Himachal High Court gets three newly appointed judges, Governor administers oath

Shimla (IANS). Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla administered the oath of office to newly appointed Himachal Pradesh High Court Justices Ranjan Sharma, Bipin Chandra Negi and Rakesh Kainthala at a function on Monday.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Chief Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Shri Ramchandra Rao were also present on the occasion. Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena conducted the proceedings of the oath ceremony and read out the appointment letter issued by the President regarding the appointment of the three judges. Governor’s Secretary Rajesh Sharma took the signatures of the Governor and the newly appointed judges on the affidavit.

Justice Ranjan Sharma was born on 21 August 1968 and is a resident of Dharamshala. He did his schooling from Government School Dharamshala. He was awarded Gold Medal in LLB from Rohtak University. He was enrolled as an advocate in December 1991 and was designated as senior advocate in March 2019.

Justice Bipin Chandra Negi, son of former chief secretary, is from Kinnaur district. He was born in Dharamshala and did his schooling from St. Edward’s School, Shimla and Delhi Public School, RK Puram, New Delhi. He did his BA Economics (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi and LLB from HP University Shimla. He was enrolled as an advocate in 1994 and designated as senior advocate in 2015. Justice Negi has practiced in various fields of law.

Justice Rakesh Kainthala was born on 23 May 1968 in Shimla. He did his schooling from DAV School, Lakkar Bazar, Shimla. Graduated from Government College Sanjauli, Shimla. After this he did LLB from HP University. He was enrolled as an advocate in 1991 and practiced in various fields of law. Justice Kainthala stood first in the Himachal Judicial Services Examination in 1995.
