Himachal: School teacher dies in road accident
Himachal Pradesh: A school teacher was killed and another person injured in a road accident near Chauras in Nauhradhar area of Sirmaur district last night. The accident occurred around 11:30 pm when a Scorpio car (HP14C4580) carrying four passengers bound for Kupvi got stuck on a slippery road due to snowfall. Two passengers got down to push the vehicle, but the vehicle suddenly accelerated and fell into the ditch. School teacher Ved Prakash, resident of Kulag in Kupvi subdivision of Shimla district, got stuck inside the vehicle and died on the spot. Another passenger Rajesh was thrown out of the vehicle during the accident and sustained injuries but survived. Police recovered the body of Ved Prakash and handed it over to his family after post-mortem. A case has been registered and investigation is underway. Sangrah Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukesh Dhadwal highlighted the dangers of travelling in snowy weather and urged drivers to be cautious and avoid unnecessary travel on snow-covered roads to prevent such tragedies.
