Nalagarh. The distance of industrial area Nalagarh from Chandigarh will now reduce further, in fact a new road will soon be available to connect the industrial city to Chandigarh. The long-running effort for a new route to Nalagarh-Chandigarh via Sainimajra Jhira is now coming to its end, the Punjab Government has approved a sum of Rs 27 crore for this route which is important for both the major areas. Himachal Government has already completed most of its share of work.
While the construction of this new road will boost industrialization in Nalagarh, it will also help in reducing the increasing traffic on Nalagarh-Baddi NH. The biggest relief is that with the construction of this new route, the distance between Nalagarh and Chandigarh will be reduced to just 30 kilometers.
The Punjab Government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 27 crore to complete the new route being built between Nalagarh-Chandigarh via Sainimajra Jhira. In the Himachal part, the road has been leveled by cutting the high hills and it has been connected to the Punjab route. The department has completed the work of culverts etc.
and has prepared the unpaved road. Out of the Rs 2 crore 74 lakh approved by the Industries Department for road construction, Rs 1 crore 20 lakh has been spent on the construction of three culverts. A bridge will be constructed with the remaining sanctioned amount. With the funds sanctioned by the Punjab Government, Siswan Chowk will be constructed from Majri Ghat to Parkhali, Parkhali via Haripur and due to the narrowness of the road, it will also be widened.
