Home guard arrested for stealing police bike in Bhadrak
Bhadrak: A home guard has been arrested for stealing a police bike and trying to dispose of it in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
The accused home guard has been identified as Chandan Barik, who was posted with Bhadrak Reserve Police.
According to sources, Chandan himself had carried out the incident of theft of a motorcycle of the Reserve Police.
Subsequently, he lodged a complaint at Bhadrak Town Police Station that the bike was stolen from the premises.
During investigation, the police came to know that the home guard was involved in the theft. Police received information that the number and color of the bike was changed in a motor garage.
After this the police raided the motor garage and confiscated the bike. Sources said Chandan and a mechanic of the garage, identified as Shadat Khan, were arrested and sent to jail.
