Honeytrap gang: Businessman targeted, women target rich and wealthy people
Patna: Bihar Police has busted a case of extorting ransom from businessmen and rich people by trapping them in honey trap. In one such case, the police has freed a businessman from Danapur who was trapped in a honey trap. Police has also arrested 3 henchmen of the gang. The female members of the gang target rich and wealthy people. They trap them by calling and then the criminals of the gang kidnap them.
During the operation, the police have arrested the criminals. The criminals have been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Barh, Randhir Kumar, a resident of Pandarak and Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Athmalgola Jamalpur. A pistol, a country-made pistol, two cartridges and three mobile phones have been recovered from them. The criminals had trapped a phenyl businessman of Danapur in a honey trap for ransom.
The woman member of the gang called the businessman and asked him to meet at Mamta Hotel in Bakhtiyarpur on the afternoon of 15th August. When the businessman reached Bakhtiyarpur without telling anything to his family, the woman called him to another hotel. SP Rural Roshan Kumar said that the victim was going to the said place on a bike when the criminals kidnapped him on the way. The criminals took him to the Diara area in Athmalgola in a car. There the businessman was locked in a hut. On the other hand, the STF and local police were keeping an eye on the accused Deepak in a murder case in Athmalgola. The police raided the Diara and caught three criminals Deepak Kumar, Randhir Kumar and Mukesh Kumar.
Another scared person was also present at the place of raid. During interrogation, the person said that he was kidnapped and brought here only two hours ago. The family had not yet demanded ransom. The 40-year-old victim is originally from Gaya. SP Rural said that the accused had conspired with a criminal from Ramakrishna Nagar to extort ransom by trapping the victim in a honey trap. Deepak is a notorious criminal. Four cases of murder and robbery are registered against him.
