Hostel superintendent suspended for keeping children hungry, DEO took action
Surajpur: You must have seen many times children getting rewards during sports. But have you ever heard of children being starved as a punishment if a ball bursts in a game? Of course, you must not have heard of it. But such a feat has happened in Chhattisgarh. Where the children of the missionary school were kept hungry for 19 hours by the father in exchange for tearing the football. After the matter came to light, the district administration team reached the spot and investigated and after finding negligence on the part of the hostel superintendent, the District Education Officer suspended him.
This whole matter is of Jagarnathpur Mission School in Pratappur. On August 28, 45 children were playing football in a group. During this time the football exploded. When the school father came to know about this in the evening, he reprimanded the children and punished them. Innocent children also went to sleep in their rooms out of fear. On the afternoon of 29 August, some villagers came to know about this. After which bananas and biscuits were distributed to the children. A person made a video of this entire incident and made it viral on social media.
Let us tell you that in the investigation of the Education Department, a large scale disorder was exposed in the hostel. During investigation, the hostel superintendent had admitted to not providing food to the children. Let us tell you that there is permission to accommodate 21 children in the hostel operated in two rooms. But 64 children have been kept in the hostel. Besides, pesticides were also found in the children’s room, after which this action has been taken.
