Humid conditions to affect Odisha weather for next 4 days
Bhubaneswar: Despite the ongoing monsoon season, the state is experiencing an unusual lack of rainfall this year. August has seen a rise in temperature affecting the weather in Odisha. With several areas across the state experiencing such conditions, the regional Meteorological Department has issued alerts of increased humid conditions.
Several regions across the state are expected to witness heat and humid conditions for the next four days. On the other hand, forecasts suggest that some areas are likely to witness lightning and thunderstorm over the next two days as well.
In view of the same, several districts have been issued a yellow warning for today and tomorrow. 11 districts have been given a yellow warning for today. Further, 10 districts have been issued a yellow warning for tomorrow.
The ongoing monsoon season in the state has recorded an average rainfall of 648 mm. This is around six percent less than the expected average rainfall of 686.8 mm. Notably, since June, 10 districts have witnessed below average rainfall. While three districts have experienced excessive rainfall, 17 districts have recorded normal rainfall.
