Hundreds of families troubled by lack of ration in Alirajpur
Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): Hundreds of families, who are completely dependent on ration grains as their main source of livelihood, are facing severe hardships as shortage of ration has forced them to struggle. .
Due to limited resources they are unable to find alternative means to support their families. The absence of ration for the past three months has further worsened their already challenging circumstances, pushing them towards poverty and food insecurity.
Ration entry is done on PSU machines in cooperative fair price shops. But the ground reality is that the ration warehouses in most of the fair price shops are empty. This discrepancy raises concerns about the efficiency and transparency of the ration distribution system.
Frustrated with the negligence that has been happening for a long time, recently the beneficiaries created a ruckus in front of the fair price shop in Khattali village of the district. Consumers told that they are not getting ration for the last three months.
After the uproar, the salesman took advance grains and distributed the ration for November. Whereas the grain warehouse in Chamar Begada area is still empty.
The female vendor of the group told that the stock of 80 quintals of wheat and 40 quintals of rice is visible in the machine, but there is no grain in the warehouse.
According to the villagers, the seller is ready to give ration, but is not getting it. The machine is showing the stock of grains, but if the grains are less then how to give them to everyone? The group members interrogated.
Meanwhile, Jobat Marketing Cooperative Society Manager Ashok Vani said that we have just found a fair price shop in Betwasa area, in which there is a difference of 20 quintals between the available physical stock and machine stock. For which we have informed the department. But no solution has been found yet.
According to the food supply officer, the allocation comes from Bhopal. Where there is shortage, we increase. The area from where the complaint is being received is being investigated.
