Reva : The husband beat his wife to death. After lying on the bed the accused fled from the spot. This woman’s two small children were roaming near their mother’s dead body even at night. According to residents, when the police arrived in the morning, the sight of the incident was shocking. The suspect of this crime is absconding and the police is searching for him. The incident was reported by Dagaldua Village Police Station. Roopa Singh’s wife Gopal Singh (24) was murdered by her husband on Tuesday evening. The suspect beat the woman in her house between 9 and 10 pm. The woman was brutally beaten, leaving marks all over her body and broken bones in her legs and hands. When the woman became drenched in blood and unconscious, the man dragged her to a room, laid her on the bed and ran away. The woman’s two children, aged 2, 2 and 4, were at home at the time of the incident, but the accused ran away and left them near the mother’s body. Innocent children remained sitting near their mother’s dead body throughout the night. Local residents came to know about the incident when they returned home in the morning.

Police have now registered the case and are searching for the accused. The accused husband Gopal Singh, who carried out this incident, is from Badar district. He is a habitual criminal and has several cases pending against him. A case was filed against him by the District Magistrate in connection with the assembly elections, in which he was ordered to leave Rewa district for a year.
However, he was living comfortably in his home and the police did not know anything about it. This was the defendant’s third marriage. The family of the mother of the accused’s first wife lived in Kamarji and the accused had brought his second wife who had returned from Prayagraj. When this woman was a minor, the defendant raped her. Based on her complaint, rape and POCSO charges were registered against the accused. After this the woman married the victim for the third time and has been living with him since then. He also had two children who lived with their mother. It is said that the suspect used to beat his wife almost daily. Neighbors say he beats them every day and noises are heard from the house. On Tuesday, the woman called her mother and informed that the paddy field was not kept inside the house but outside. This made her husband angry and he beat her. The defendant is said to have returned home drunk that night, killed his wife and fled.
