Husband commits suicide after dispute with wife, painful death
Bhopal: 48-year-old S Pradeep Kumar Nair, State Program Manager of an NGO, living in flat number 502 of the fifth floor of Nakshatra Apartment in BDA Colony, Avadhpuri, committed suicide by immolating himself at around 1.45 am on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday. Police investigation has revealed that he had a dispute with his wife before taking this step. After divorcing his first wife, he lived with his second wife, 27-year-old Niharika. Only one year had passed since their marriage. The police have established a track and taken the matter under investigation. Avadhpuri police station in-charge Roshan Lal Bharti said that S Pradeep Kumar Nair was originally a resident of Trivandrum, Kerala, about a year ago he used to work in an NGO in Bhopal.
During this time, he met Niharika, a resident of Bhopal, and both of them got married for love a year ago. Pradeep Kumar Nair had returned from Raipur to Bhopal at night, where his wife was not found at home because he was in some NGO seminar. When she returned home at night, there was a lot of dispute between her and her husband. The people of the society told that before the accident, they heard the sounds of husband and wife fighting, possibly the police is considering this as the reason behind the incident. TI Roshanlal Bharti told that the residents of the colony informed about this on Dial 100 at around 1 o’clock, after which the police reached the spot. On the information of the people, four vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot, the fire was extinguished by 4 o’clock in the morning. It has been completely brought under control. In the incident of suicide by arson, the fire had engulfed the entire flat.
After controlling the fire, the police reached inside the flat at night. Where a badly burnt body was found in a room. The face, chest and most of the body have been burnt. The body is said to be that of Pradeep Kumar Nair, the relatives of the deceased are residents of Kerala. Post mortem of the dead body will be conducted after his arrival in Bhopal. Currently, the body has been kept safe in the mortuary of AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital. Roshanlal Bharti told that the deceased’s wife Niharika has told the police that Rohit works in an NGO in the city. Her husband S Pradeep Nair was posted as State Program Manager of People’s NGO in Raipur. Came to Bhopal without informing on Saturday night. She reached home at night. There was a dispute between the two on some issue and somehow I saved myself and came out of the flat. Here, her husband set himself on fire in the store room of the flat. Where files, documents and books related to the NGO were kept. Due to this the fire spread more. People nearby informed the police and fire brigade. Police is gathering information about how they started the fire.
