Husband killed by hitting with a stick, wife arrested
Raigarh. A murder incident has come to light in the Gharghoda police station area of the district, where the woman who killed her husband in a domestic dispute was arrested by the police immediately after the incident. The accused Dhanmet Dhanwar (30) beat her husband Mangal Singh Dhanwar (35) to death with a stick.
The incident took place on the evening of January 13, 2025. It has been reported that there were frequent domestic disputes, fights, assaults between the deceased and his wife. Neighbor Premsindhu Negi (age 52 years) said that there were frequent fights between the two, which could not be resolved even after the mediation of the Panchayat. On the day of the incident, after the quarrel, Dhanmet Dhanwar injured her husband by hitting him with a stick. After the fight, Dhanmet Dhanwar herself went to the house of neighbor Premsindhu Negi and told him. When the neighbors saw Mangal Singh, he was lying on the ground covered in blood and unconscious. He was immediately taken to Gharghoda Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
On the complaint of Premsindhu Negi, Gharghoda police started investigation by establishing a case. A case of murder was registered under section 103(1) BNS under crime number 08/2025. After the death was confirmed in the postmortem report, the accused Dhanmet Dhanwar was immediately taken into custody. During interrogation, Dhanmet confessed to the crime and handed over the stick used in the murder and the clothes worn at the time of the incident to the police.
On the continuous guidance of senior officers, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramsajivan Verma, constables Prahlad Bhagat, Dinesh Sidar, Chandrashekhar Chandrakar and lady constable Gayatri Yadav, under the leadership of police station in-charge inspector Ram Kinkar Yadav, conducted a quick investigation of the case and arrested the accused. The accused has been sent on judicial remand.
