Husband returned home from jail, murdered his wife, arrested
Raigarh. Station in-charge Chakradharnagar received information from Sambalpuri about the dead body of a woman lying in the forest trail behind Kosabadi village. After this, after informing the senior officers about the incident, the station in-charge reached the spot along with the staff. Here, the blood soaked body of Sharda Khadiya, husband of Kirtan Khadiya, aged 35 years, of the village, was found lying there.
People present at the spot told that there used to be disputes between Sharda and her husband Kirtan Khadia over domestic matters. When the dispute escalated, Kirtan Khadiya killed Sharda Khadiya by hitting her on the head with the iron shovel he was keeping and ran away from there. Chakradharnagar police conducted Panchnama and sent the body to the district hospital for post-mortem.
After this, on the report of complainant Nirakar Rathiya, a case of murder was registered against accused Kirtan Khadiya. According to the information received, Kirtan Khadia was in jail in a theft case. It came out only about two months ago. After coming to the village, Kirtan started quarreling and arguing with his wife every day, doubting her character. The accused confessed to the crime. During police interrogation, the accused admitted to killing his wife due to doubts about his character. On his memorandum, the iron shovel used in the murder, the clothes worn at the time of the incident (stained with blood) and important evidence have been safely seized from the spot. Accused Kirtan Khadiya father Jaimangal Khadiya (31) of Sambalpuri police station Chakradharnagar has been arrested for the crime of murder and sent on judicial remand.
