Hybrid terrorist arrested in Srinagar
Srinagar (IANS). The Srinagar Police arrested a hybrid terrorist belonging to the banned terrorist organization Al-Badr in Batmaloo area here. Officials said on Saturday that objectionable material along with arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession.
Acting on specific intelligence, a small team of Srinagar police arrested a hybrid terrorist belonging to banned terrorist outfit Al-Badr from Batamaloo area, police said.
According to the police, “He has been identified as Arfat Yusuf, son of Mohd Yusuf Khan, resident of Rajpora Pulwama. Incriminating material along with arms and ammunition including a pistol, 20 live rounds, two magazines have been recovered from his possession.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that he has been involved in terrorist activities in South Kashmir range and had come to Srinagar with nefarious designs. However, he was arrested before he could carry out any terrorist attack.
Police said he was involved in hurling grenades at the security forces twice. First time he hurled grenade at CRPF vehicle at Rajpora and second time at CRPF/RR camp at Hawal, Rajpora Pulwama.
Police said, “Apart from throwing the grenade he was involved in pasting the posters of Lone Wolf Warrior on 26 March 2023 and 10 March 2023. He already has several terror offense cases registered against him.”
