Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have registered 26 cases in connection with alleged illegal mining and transportation of sand across the city in the last one week. Police seized 8 vehicles, 1196 tonnes of sand and arrested 57 people. City police commissioner C.V. Anand said a special drive was carried out by police teams as part of the state government’s efforts to combat illegal sand mining and transportation. C.V. Anand said Hyderabad police will continue to take strict action against illegal activities, including unauthorised sand transportation. He requested people to inform about any suspicious activity to the local police station.
