Hyderabad: Allu Arjun will appear virtually in Nampally court

Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Allu Arjun will appear virtually in the Nampally Court on Friday, December 27, as his 14-day judicial custody comes to an end. The move comes after his arrest in connection with a tragic stampede incident that took place during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4. The stampede led to the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and severely injured her 13-year-old son, Sritej. Allu Arjun’s legal team has requested that he be allowed to attend the court proceedings online instead of appearing in person. The presiding judge accepted the request and allowed the actor to participate virtually. The decision comes after the Telangana High Court earlier granted him interim bail in the case, which his lawyer will inform the Nampally court today. The city police had initially put up security measures in the court, as Arjun was expected to appear in court for the hearing. Sandhya Theatre Stampede
A tragic stampede broke out during the premiere of the much-awaited film “Pushpa 2” at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old woman named Revathi and serious injuries to her 13-year-old son Sri Tej. The chaos occurred when a huge crowd rushed to watch the film and catch a glimpse of its star Allu Arjun. The situation worsened when fans rushed forward to see Allu Arjun, causing the gates of the theatre to collapse under the pressure of the crowd. Following the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 and later released on bail. The actor expressed his condolences to Revathi’s family and pledged to support them. However, the incident has sparked a lot of controversy and criticism, including allegations by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy condemning Allu Arjun’s actions during the event. Revanth said the police had previously refused to grant permission for such an event due to security concerns, exposing the lack of planning and responsibility on the part of both the actor and the theatre management. As the investigation continues, Allu Arjun’s involvement in the case remains under scrutiny, with legal action taken against him and his security team for culpable homicide.
