Hyderabad: Drunk passenger arrested for allegedly touching woman inappropriately on flight

Hyderabad: A man has been arrested for allegedly touching a 38-year-old female IT professional inappropriately on a flight from Chennai to Hyderabad, police said on Sunday. The incident occurred on Friday when the 45-year-old man, who works in Chennai and was allegedly drunk, was traveling to Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad. The woman was sitting next to her husband, while the accused passenger was sitting next to them on the flight. Police said the couple had fallen asleep and, as the flight was about to land at the airport here, they noticed someone touching them inappropriately. They noticed the man’s hand and raised an alarm. A police officer said that after the flight landed, the woman lodged a complaint with the RGIA police, based on which a case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS. Police said the accused, who was later arrested, claimed he had touched her accidentally. Further investigation is underway.
