‘I am being kidnapped’, Police officer beaten by mob after accused shouted
Patna: In a case related to cyber crime, the Haryana Police team had reached Patna, Bihar to arrest an accused. The team arrested the accused, but he started shouting in the area that he was being kidnapped. Then what was left. People of the area attacked the police team and beat up a Haryana Police officer. When the local police came to know about the incident, they reached the spot and rescued the Haryana Police officer from the crowd. Further action in this matter is being taken by Patna Police.
Actually, the incident took place on November 4 at Manorama Apartment in SK Puri police station area of Patna. Haryana Police had come to arrest the accused Sunil Kumar, who lives here, in a case related to cyber crime. On reaching Patna, Haryana Police did not take the local police team along and reached the spot itself.
Haryana Police reached Manorama Apartment and arrested Sunil. When the team was taking him along, Sunil started shouting that he was being kidnapped. What happened next? When he shouted, the people of the area came. A huge crowd gathered. These people started abusing and assaulting a Haryana Police officer.
When someone informed Patliputra and SK Puri police station about the incident, the police force reached the spot. Haryana Police officer was freed from the clutches of the mob. Accused Sunil Kumar was brought to SK Puri police station. Giving information on the case, DSP Krishna Murari Prasad said that accused Sunil Kumar is being interrogated.
