IAS of Chhattisgarh cadre honored in NIT
Raipur. Venkatesh Shukla, born in Chhattisgarh, and Vivek Dewangan, an IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, have been declared as its distinguished alumni by Maulana Azad NIT, Bhopal. Both of them graduated from this college at different times.
This is the first time that the college is instituting such an award, and the first such honor is being given to Venkatesh Shukla, and the second to Vivek Dewangan. Born in Chhattisgarh, Venkatesh Shukla graduated from this college with a degree in Electronics in 1975, and has since become a highly successful technology entrepreneur in the United States, associated with youth and student organizations, and the Government of India. He has made a big contribution in some of the schemes.
They are also engaged in nurturing talented students. He has been associated with some of the biggest programs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in America. The second honored student, Vivek Dewangan, did engineering in Electronics from the same college in Bhopal in 1989, and is currently an IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, on deputation to the Government of India. Presently he is the Chairman and MD of REC (Rural Electrification Corporation), a Navratna company of the Central Government.
