Election campaign activities: Timings should be clearly stated: Chief Electoral Officer

Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer Archana Patnaik stated that those applying for campaign permits must provide the correct date, time, and location.

She issued a press release regarding this:

When political parties and candidates apply for election permits, they should submit them only through the Suvitha website.

These applications will be reviewed and decided within 24 hours at the office of the Returning Officer of the respective constituency.

Applications are also required for the use of helicopters and helipads, opening temporary party offices, meetings with loudspeakers, meetings without loudspeakers, street meetings with loudspeakers, processions, rallies, street walks, posters, billboards, vehicle permits, and the installation of platforms and barriers. Applications must be submitted at least 48 hours before the event. It states that political parties and candidates must ensure that all information, including the date, place, and time, is complete and accurate.
