Abu Dhabi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)’s first overseas campus in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi, is offering 25 seats for its inaugural course.
Dr Ahmed Sultan Al Shoaibi, acting executive director of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, told Khaleej Times that the number of seats could be increased due to increasing demand.

The upcoming campus is set to launch master’s programs in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS) in January and undergraduate courses from September 2024.
Abu Dhabi Media Office (ADMO) explained that the master’s degree in ETS focuses on preparing professionals and scholars in the energy industry for sustainable solutions, designed specifically for the Abu Dhabi campus.
ETS Master applicants with a science and engineering background will study a two-year program at the Abu Dhabi campus.
On February 18, 2022, as part of the signing of the India-UAE trade agreement, India announced to set up the first IIT in the UAE.

IITs are national institutes in India and currently there are 23 IITs in the country. These 23 IITs are located in different regions of the country offering undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctoral (PhD) level programmes.
The top IITs in India are IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras. Primarily, IITs are known for offering B.Tech and M.Tech degree programs.
Admission to IITs is through the Joint Advanced Entrance Examination (JEE). Eligible students with the highest ranking in JEE Mains are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced. Indian overseas students usually come to India to write these exams.
