In this case, the team of Raipur ASP Rural has already taken action against the hotel operator after conducting a raid, but the hotel staff and operator are not stopping their activities even after this action. While the staff of private restaurants sell every bottle for Rs 200 to 210 as per the rate of Excise Department, the same bottle is being sold for Rs 400 in private restaurants. A few days ago, late at night, the police took action against those serving illegal liquor without license or on old license and against the operators of these hotels and dhabas, but even after that, liquor is being served in pubs and hotels like Hotel Uturn, Social Dhaba, Wood Island, Hotel Royal Coastal, Anna Punjabi in Vidhansabha police station area.

Liquor is being served in night parties

Petty politicians have also opened pubs, clubs, hookah bars, restaurants in Raipur city on a large scale. According to a survey, Raipur’s parties are overshadowing even the important tourist cities of the country like Goa and have overtaken them. About six months ago, some strictness was taken after a shootout between two groups of young men and women coming out of a similar club on VIP Road. All the pub, hotel club operators were warned that their licenses would be cancelled if they served wine after 12 o’clock. But no action has been taken against even one of them till now. But once again, till late night, pubs and restaurants like Hotel Uturn, Social Dhaba, Wood Island are serving liquor without license or on old license. That too from outside. Since the tender process for foreign liquor supply is going on in the state, therefore, the operators of these clubs and restaurants are getting it secretly and selling it. Which was of expensive brands. Along with young men, young women also clink glasses shoulder to shoulder in these. There is no objection to anyone going to the club and drinking liquor, the objection is on the fact that sometimes they get into a fight among themselves under the influence of alcohol or do not hesitate to attack any other passerby with lethal intent. Even due to over speed driving under the influence of alcohol, the life of an innocent person is in danger. And the operators of these clubs and restaurants who remain open till late night are responsible for this.

Excise department seizes fake liquor in Kunra

Fake liquor is also being sold in the district now. To seize it and catch the smugglers selling it, the district excise staff had to conduct a search operation for several days. For four-five days, they talked to the liquor smugglers by posing as customers and coachmen using fake numbers. And during this time, 40 boxes of fake Goa liquor without hologram were seized from accused Motilal Sahu while he was being transported in a car Maruti Wagon R CG 10 FA 8132. Also, during the investigation, 300 liters of spirit used in the manufacture of country liquor was seized while another accused Yuvraj Sahu was transporting it in a four-wheeler Ashok Leyland pickup CG 25 K 2638. During the action, a large quantity of fake empty bottles, empty caps, material used in making illegal liquor was found in the said pick-up vehicle. The department admitted that it has taken this action for the first time in the state. In which such a large quantity of liquor and illegal liquor manufacturing material has been recovered. Also, the vehicle used in illegal transportation was seized. Both the accused were sent to jail under sections 34(1)a, 34(1)c, 34(1)j, 34(2) and section 36 of the Chhattisgarh Excise Act.
