Illegal liquor seized from auto driver, police team caught after employing informer
Raipur: Police have seized illegal liquor from an auto driver in Azad Chowk police station area of the capital. Police said that along with stopping the smuggling of liquor, they have also been directed to trace and take action against the people buying and selling liquor illegally. In view of which, all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police and in-charge ACCU. Along with collecting information in this regard, police station in-charges are also collecting information through other means along with appointing informers.
In the same sequence, on 15.11.2023, police station Azad Chowk received information that a person has kept a large quantity of English liquor in his auto number CG 04-LB-2837 near Lalita Chowk Ramsagar Para under police station Azad Chowk area and is planning to sell it. Is in trouble. On which, under the direction of senior officers and the leadership of the police station in-charge, the team of Azad Chowk police station identified the person and the auto of the description described by the informer and caught them. During interrogation, the person gave his name as Jagdish Mishra, father Harishankar Mishra, age 34 years, Sakin Lalganj, District Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The hall is said to be behind RDA Colony Hirapur Bengali Hotel, Police Station Kabirnagar Raipur.
When the team members searched his auto, it was found that a huge quantity of English liquor was kept in the back of the auto. Efforts were being made continuously to mislead the team members by not presenting any kind of document when asked for valid documents regarding possession of liquor. On which the accused was arrested and 30 bottles of McDowell Number One English Liquor, totaling 22 bulk liters, worth approximately Rs 21300/- were seized from his possession and crime number 388/23 Section 34(2) Excise was registered against the accused in police station Azad Chowk. The offense under the Act was registered and action was taken.
