Rourkela goods train crushing into residential area: 5 including Station manager suspended

Rourkela: As many as five persons have been suspended in the Rourkela Goods train mishap case of Wednesday. The list of suspended officials includes the Station Manager of Rourkela Railway Station and others.

As per reports, the Railway Department has taken disciplinary action in the matter of the goods train mishap of Wednesday in which at least three bogies of a goods train had crushed into the residential area in Rourkela.

As per the information, the Railway Department suspended the Rourkela railway station manager, the driver of the goods train, the guard who was on-duty for the goods train on that day and the staff who were guarding the wagons.

It is to be noted that a goods train got derailed in Rourkela of Odisha on Wednesday morning and three bogies of the train crashed into a residential area.

While several people narrowly escaped a major accident, Traffic on the Railway Gate-Basanti Colony road was disrupted due to the accident.
