India has produced 26.11 times more LMT of food grains than its record
Business Business: India will surpass the LMT milestone by producing a record 3,322.98 LMT (100,000 tonnes) of foodgrains in the agricultural year 2023-24, which is 26.11 times higher than the 3,296.87 LMT of foodgrains produced in the agricultural year 2022-23, the central government said on Wednesday. Record increase in foodgrain production led by robust performance of rice, wheat and cereals. Total rice production in 2023-24 is estimated at a record 1378.25 LMT, which is 20.70 LMT higher than last year’s rice production of 1357.55 LMT. Meanwhile, as per the final estimates of the Ministry of Agriculture, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, wheat production in 2023-2024 is estimated at a record 1132.92 LMT, which is 27.38 LMT higher than last year (1105.54 LMT).
