‘India’ is the priority of BJP and RSS
New Delhi: In the golden age of independence, the Modi government is engaged in the mission of liberating the country and its countrymen one by one from the mentality of slavery and every symbol related to slavery. In the coming days, the Modi government is preparing to remove the word ‘India’ from the Constitution of India. Is engaged in. As soon as this news came to light, a new controversy has arisen in the country’s politics. The entire opposition, including the Congress, started questioning the government’s intentions and started alleging that the government was scared of the name of their alliance ‘India’ and also alleged that the government wanted to change the Constitution.
There was a sharp counterattack from the government and BJP on the allegations of opposition parties. Many ministers of the government, many leaders of BJP and even many Chief Ministers, while targeting the opposition parties, raised the question that why is the opposition so irritated with the name India?
In a major step forward in the Bharat vs India controversy, the government also started using ‘Bharat’ in official invitation cards and on official foreign visits, where earlier India was normally written.
First, in the invitation letter to the dinner being given by President Draupadi Murmu on September 9 in the context of the G-20 conference, he was written as ‘President of India’, which was shared on social media by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and many other ministers of the Modi government. . After that, ‘The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’ was written on the paper of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Indonesia, which was shared by BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra on social media.
Not only this, the way the Union Ministers and BJP leaders aggressively launched a campaign in favor of India during the continuous attacks by the opposition parties, two things seemed to become very clear.
Firstly, the name Bharat is the priority of the government and the government will not step back on this and secondly, the government has given a political message to a large population of the country who is fond of the name Bharat that the opposition alliance is irritated by this name.
But since before the arrival of foreign heads of state in G-20, there was a fear that the statements of government ministers, chief ministers and leaders of the ruling party would lead to unnecessary controversy and thus defeat the purpose of a big event like G-20, then the Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself came forward and took charge.
PM Modi, while chairing the Council of Ministers meeting on September 6, advised all his ministers to focus on the G-20 summit and avoid rhetoric regarding the India vs India debate.
However, a major credit for the government’s decision to give importance to India in the name of the country is also being given to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat. Because, just a few days before the information about the government’s decision came out, Rashtriya Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat had appealed to the people to use the name Bharat instead of India and had said that the name of this country has been Bharat for centuries, not India and hence We should use its old name only.
BJP is an organization ideologically linked to RSS, although in common parlance, BJP is sometimes called the political wing of RSS. In such a situation, the statement of the Sangh chief certainly means a lot for the government. However, in the matter of giving prominence to the name of India, the thinking of both RSS and BJP is almost the same.
To remove the name India and use only the name Bharat for the country, the government will have to amend Article 1 of the Constitution of India. In the definition of India given in Article 1 of the Constitution, it is written ‘India, that is Bharat’ i.e. ‘India means Bharat’ and if the government removes the word ‘India’ from it and leaves only the word ‘Bharat’ If desired, the Constitution will have to be amended for this.
However, for now the government has found a way out. The way the name India was given priority everywhere, despite it being written in the Constitution, “India, that is Bharat”, now on the same lines, the name Bharat will also be given priority, which has been started by the government through the proposal to bring it. It has been done with the political uproar over the Constitution Amendment Bill.
Let us remind you that in his speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort, PM Modi had talked about making collective efforts to get rid of even the smallest signs of slavery. Even among the five vows that the Prime Minister keeps emphasizing on during Amrit Kaal, one of the vows is freedom from the mentality of slavery. Under this, the government is doing countless works ranging from education policy to symbols, names of roads and places related to slavery, removing statues of people associated with colonial power and installing statues of Indian great men.
Home Minister of the same mission, Amit Shah, in the Lok Sabha on August 11, 2023 during the monsoon session of Parliament, called for replacing these three bills by calling the IPC made in 1860, CRPC made in 1898 and the Indian Evidence Act made in 1872 as signs of slavery. Three new bills were introduced – Indian Judicial Code Bill 2023, Indian Civil Defense Code Bill 2023 and Indian Evidence Bill 2023.
Let us remind you that the government has called a special session of Parliament for five days during Amrit Kaal from 18 to 22 September. On September 18, the first day of this special session of Parliament, the proceedings of both the Houses of Parliament will be held in the Old Building of Parliament.
