Indian Navy’s INAS-316 squadron completes 5000 hrs of operational flying in less than 2 years

New Delhi: Indian Navy’s INAS-316 squadron completed more than 5000 hours of operational flying in less than 2 years. The squadron had been commissioned on 29 March last year at Goa, with 4 P-8I aircraft. ANI informed about it in an X post (formerly Twitter) on Friday.As per reports, the INAS-316 squadron of the Indian Navy completed more than 5000 hours of operational flying recently. The same had been commissioned on 29 March last year at Goa.Reportedly, INAS 316 and INAS 312 are the 2 squadrons operating the P8I aircraft, besides spreading the wings over the Indian Ocean and beyond. They have been augmenting the surveillance along the northern and western borders, the Indian Navy said.

The INAS 316 is an Indian naval air squadron based at INS Hansa. The squadron was commissioned by Chief of Naval Staff R. Hari Kumar. The squadron is currently operational under the Western Naval Command. The squadron is primarily tasked with maritime reconnaissance, ELINT, and coastal surveillance.
