India’s first 3D-printed post office inaugurated in Bengaluru
Bengaluru (IANS). The country’s first 3D-printed post office was inaugurated by Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav in Bengaluru on Friday.
In his inaugural address, the Union Minister said that the inauguration of the 3D-printed post office is indicative of the spirit with which the country is progressing in present times.
Vaishnav said, “Nobody ever thought that India would develop its own 4G and 5G technology. Nobody ever thought that India would produce its own very complex telecom equipment. In fact one of the industry veterans mentioned He was with the Telecom industry for over 35 years and no one could have ever imagined that India could emerge as a creator and developer of Telecom technology.
He said, “Nobody ever imagined that India would be able to design and manufacture a world-class train on its way to making its own bullet train. Example after example, sector by sector, nobody could ever imagine that India Will export howitzers.
The Union Minister praised Bengaluru saying that he likes to come here as the city has a lot of energy, positivity and visionary character. This city presents a new picture of India. “The new picture you saw today in the context of this 3D-printed post office is the spirit of today’s India,” he said.
The post office has been constructed using 3D concrete printing technology by Larsen & Toubro Construction in 1000 square feet. The structural design of the post office was approved by IIT Madras.
This Post Office is located at Cambridge Layout in Halasuru locality. The building was created using 3D concrete printing technology. The project was completed in 45 days.
