Indiscriminate cutting of trees in the name of establishment of Lord Ganesha

Bhilai: In the name of Ganesh celebrations, lush green trees are being cut in Bhilai city. Not only the Ganesh pandal but also the trees adjacent to it have been cut indiscriminately in the name of preparing the ground for organizing the fair. Even after complaining about the matter, no action has been taken yet by the responsible officers of BSP, as a result, green trees are being cut.

When the local people were talked about this whole matter, they told that this game of cutting trees has been going on for the last many years. The organizing committee has a lot of space for Ganesh Pandal, since they intend to organize a fair, hence the space is falling short. Due to this, the trees along the Central Avenue Road, which is the main road of the township, are also being cut indiscriminately. A person told that I saw that three to four JCBs were being deployed in Central Avenue Road Sector 10 and trees were being uprooted and thrown away. After this, it was leveled by pouring mud over it, so that a fair could be organized at that place.
