Industries Minister, Revenue Minister and Rajsico President re-operationalised the renovated ICD in Bhilwara

Renovation and re-operation ceremony of Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Bhilwara was organized on Saturday by ‘Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation’, a state government undertaking, to promote the industries of Bhilwara region and to provide container logistic facilities to the port. Industries and Commerce Minister Mrs. Shakuntala Rawat, the chief guest of the ceremony at Azad Nagar in Bhilwara, and guest of honor, Revenue Minister Mr. Ramlal Jat and Rajsico and REPC Chairman, Mr. Rajeev Arora flagged off the containers.
While congratulating the exporters of Bhilwara region, the Industries Minister said that Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot is continuously making efforts to increase the export trade of the state. Under ‘Mission Be an Exporter’, dry port has been established through Rajsico to provide transport facility to the exporters for exports to foreign countries. In view of the demand of the industrial organizations of industrial city Bhilwara, the state government has decided to re-operationalize the ICD here. Smt. Rawat said that in the financial budget 2022-23, the state government has announced for the expansion of Jodhpur ICD at a cost of Rs 95 crore. New and modern inland container depot with rail link is being established in 18.6559 hectare area near Salawas Railway Station of Jodhpur.
The Revenue Minister first congratulated Mr. Rajeev Arora for the renovation and re-operation of the ICD which was closed for many days. He further said that this ICD is a gift for the industrialists of Bhilwara. By starting this modern ICD, the state government has solved the problems of the industrialists.
Giving information, Shri Arora said that industrial development is the most important factor in the progress of any state. Marketing of finished products by industrial units in other states of the country as well as at the global level ensures progress. For the re-operation of ICD Bhilwara which was closed since the year 2010, efforts were being made to renew it for the last three years by Rajsico. Initially, there is a possibility of export trade of 300 to 400 containers per month from this ICD, which is expected to reach 500 containers in the next 3 months at the earliest. With its operation, logistic facility will be available to Bhilwara textile, stone and mineral and other export-oriented industrial units and along with Bhilwara, exporters of Mandalgarh, Vijayanagar, Gulabpura, Shahpura, Bundi, Chittorgarh regions will also get special benefits.
It is noteworthy that ICD Bhilwara was established in the year 1989 by the corporation with the objective of providing basic logistic facilities to the importers-exporters of the state. The ICD Bhilwara campus is set up in an area of approximately 25,000 Sq. It was inaugurated on 7 December 2000 by Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot. In the year 2009-10, the operation of this ICD was stopped due to insufficient container export business and continuous increase in the cost of customs cost recovery. For the convenience of the exporters of Bhilwara region, ICD Bhilwara, which was closed for more than a decade, has been reformed and re-operationalised.
In order to improve the infrastructure and upgrade the facilities, a new road has been constructed inside the ICD Bhilwara campus and the office building has been renovated in the year 2021-22. Road construction work and all other necessary equipment and furniture etc. have been installed in the ICD.
About 90 lakh rupees have been spent so far by Rajsico from its own resources to get the work of renovation, computerization and other modernization of ICD Bhilwara done. Necessary inspection action has been taken by the officials of Customs Department, Udaipur before the operation of this ICD and permission has also been received from Customs Department to assign work to Seven Ocean Logistics in handling and transportation agent of this ICD. . Customs staff has been posted by the Customs Department for ICD Bhilwara of Rajsico. All the proceedings before the operation have been completed by the corporation.
Organized under the chairmanship of Mr. Rajeev Arora, Deputy Commissioner Customs Mr. Narendra Aseri and Managing Director Rajsico Dr. Manisha Arora, District Coordinator of Peace and Non-Violence Cell Mr. Akshay Tripathi, District Collector Mr. Ashish Modi and industrialists etc. were present in this function.
