Addressing the demonstration, CITU President Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami expressed serious concern over the endless problems faced by farmers, workers and common people due to job loss, unemployment, rising prices of all essential commodities, which he said was due to government policies. Tarigami further said that all the hard rights of workers have been removed through the pro-employer labor code for ease of doing business. CITU leader said that due to strong opposition of trade unions against privatization the government has now come up with the National Monetization Pipeline Project and is handing over all the public sector assets made of people’s money to big corporates to make money without any investment .
He said that in the last 10 years, PSU banks have waived off Rs 25.75 lakh crore, but this government is not ready to waive off the loans of farmers. He supported the ongoing struggle of the farmers and also urged the government to immediately accept all the demands of the farmers.
