Injection given in stomach, patient died due to illiterate doctor

Korba. In the district, a patient lost his life due to the treatment of a quack doctor. The doctor had given an injection in the patient’s stomach, due to which severe stomach pain started. The limit reached when the doctor started threatening instead of giving correct advice.
The police was investigating the patient’s complaint as normal, now after the death of the same patient, the police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the quack doctor. Actually, Bhanupratap Otti (40 years) used to reside in Gurudwari, a dependent village of Gram Panchayat Semra of Pasan police station area. On November 3, when his health deteriorated, he went to GPM district doctor Karan Kumar, who was treating him while staying in a nearby village. The doctor gave four injections one after the other in the arm, waist and stomach. Shortly after this, Bhanu Pratap started having severe stomach pain.

Bhanu Pratap gave this information to his wife Sukul Bai in the evening. The wife called the doctor and informed about the increase in pain after the injection in her husband’s stomach, but instead of giving proper advice, the doctor started threatening her. Ultimately the family took Bhanu Pratap to Pendra for treatment, where the doctor advised him to take him to Bilaspur. Bhanu Pratap’s treatment continued at SIMS from 7 to 17 November.

During this period, reports of ripening of wound in the stomach came to light. Doctors also performed the operation. When the family members did not feel well, they brought Bhanu Pratap home. After which the patient lodged a written complaint about the matter in the police station on 18 November. Which the police kept investigating as normal. Here, when his condition worsened, Bhanu Pratap was again admitted to SIMS. The patient died during treatment in SIMS after two days.
