Constituency redrawal bill failed due to DMK’s opposition: Udhayanidhi Stalin

Tamil Nadu: Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin stated that the DMK’s opposition prevented the bill to redraw constituencies from passing.

DMK Youth Secretary and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday launched a van campaign near the Sangakiri Old Bus Stand in support of DMK candidate M. Manikandan from the Sangakiri constituency in Salem district. He stated the following:

In the last assembly elections, the DMK won only one seat in Salem district. This time, it must prove its stronghold by winning all seats in Salem district.

During the last five years of DMK rule, a joint drinking water project has been implemented at a cost of approximately ₹400 crore. The Highway Department has constructed roads at a cost of ₹130 crore. Panchayat roads have been improved at a cost of ₹23 crore, and the Koneripatti Government Primary Health Center has been improved at a cost of ₹2 crore.

Rs. 3 crore rupees for a veterinary pharmacy in Magudanjawadi, and additional classroom buildings for schools in Koneripatti, J.K. Nagar, and Alagappanapalayam. An information center was constructed in Taramangalam at a cost of 30 crore rupees, a paddy procurement center in Arasiramani Town Panchayat at a cost of 30 lakh rupees, and additional buildings for the government primary health center. Homes for Sri Lankan refugees were built in Taramangalam at a cost of 13 crore rupees. The Chief Minister has funded the construction of a commercial complex in Idanganasalai Municipality. Many such good projects have been implemented in this constituency. Therefore, I have come to seek your vote with all due respect.

The DMK is the party that is trying to ensure that Tamil Nadu’s rights are not affected. The central government is trying to reduce Tamil Nadu’s 39 Lok Sabha seats in the name of delimitation. M.K. Stalin was the only leader in India to oppose the delimitation bill. That is why the bill was not passed.

The DMK government will always stand with farmers. Former Chief Minister Karunanidhi was the one who provided free electricity to farmers. Chief Minister Stalin has also implemented several welfare schemes for farmers.
