Innovations including UAV showcased at IIT-M Conclave
CHENNAI: Students of the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-Madras) Center for Innovation (CFI) organized the second edition of the annual research conference on Saturday at the campus.
Its objective was to showcase the cutting-edge technology developed by the students to other academicians, industry professionals and investors. A ‘Competition Team Demo Day’ was also organised, showcasing various prototypes developed by the teams competing over the past six months.
Some of the notable projects showcased during the event included a solar-powered race car, a reusable sounding rocket, fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for military surveillance, a CFI guide robot, clean energy seaplanes, oceanography Autonomous underwater vehicles for. The research conference featured an impressive display of 73 projects presented by 14 technical clubs and seven competition teams. Over 800 students actively participated in the event, highlighting the widespread participation and dedication towards innovation.
IIT-Madras said in its release that the key objectives of the conference include promoting innovation. “The primary objective is to promote and celebrate innovation. It provides students a chance to showcase their creative projects and industry guidance. The objective of this program is to provide students with guidance and financial support from industry experts and professors, facilitating real-world applications of their work.
