Inquiry continues from the constable who opened fire

Raipur. Raipur Police has issued a statement in the case of the constable who opened fire. In which it was told that constable Rakesh Yadav of 14th battalion, who is engaged in PHQ security of Nava Raipur, has received information about accidental firing of some rounds near his barrack after morning duty. The jawan is a resident of Jaunpur UP. The matter is of Rakhi police station and the incident took place at 9.30 in the morning. The cause of the shooting is unknown and no one was injured in the shooting. The constable is being interrogated and the investigation is ongoing.

Confirming the incident, SSP Santosh Kumar Singh said that the bullet was fired from the jawan deployed for the security of Nava Raipur PHQ. The reasons behind the firing, accidental firing or any other reason, all these aspects are being investigated.
