Interstate gang stealing transformer goods busted, 5 arrested
Meerut. An inter-state gang involved in theft of transformer accessories, coils, oil, electric wires, starters, cables etc. has been busted by Jani police station. Police have arrested five miscreants of this gang and recovered the goods. Police Station Head Jani Prajant Tyagi arrested three miscreants of the interstate gang during checking at Ganganahar Track Pooth Road, Bhola Jhal intersection. The names of the arrested miscreants were Ankit, Vishal and Rohit, a motorcycle without number plate, a car, huge quantity of electrical wires, transformer coils, transformer oil, tools used for cutting transformers and wires, saws, ropes etc. were recovered. During interrogation on Tuesday, the miscreants told that they along with their associates Mohit, Salman, Farid, Sajid Alvi, Kunal, Ankit, Farid steal transformers and cut electrical wires of tube wells installed in rural areas of Meerut and Gautam Buddha Nagar. This gang had stolen transformer goods from the forests of Rasna, Mirpur and Rohta 10-12 days ago. Wasim was going to Modinagar to sell this item to scrap dealers. Police then arrested Wasim Kabadi and Ankit Goyal along with the goods from a scrap shop in Modinagar. Wasim Scrapyard used to sell this item to Ankit Goyal. Whereas Ankit Goyal sells this goods to Vinay Gupta of Modi Nagar. Vinay works to melt the stolen goods. Many cases are already registered against the arrested criminals.
