Interstate smuggler smuggling heroin worth lakhs arrested
Sirsa. The Haryana Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested a dismissed Punjab Police jawan who appeared in the Sirsa Court of Haryana along with 62 grams of heroin worth Rs 35 lakh from the parking lot of the court complex. A case was registered against accused Amardeep Singh Punjab under NDPS Act 8 months ago in Sirsa Sadar police station.
He came to Sirsa Court on Thursday to appear in this case. According to the information, Sirsa unit in-charge of HNCB Rakesh Kumar received information that dismissed Punjab Police soldier Amardeep had come to Sirsa court for appearance. He has a large quantity of heroin.
After the appearance, he is going to supply this heroin in Sirsa. After this, in-charge Rakesh Kumar formed a team under the leadership of Sub Inspector Tarsem Singh. HNCB team laid siege near the court parking.
During this time, a young man came near a bike without number plate and started going on the bike, then the HNCB team caught him. After this, when searched, 62 grams of heroin was found with the young man. During interrogation, the youth was identified as Amardeep Singh, resident of Firozpur City, Punjab.
After this he was arrested. Investigating officer Sub Inspector Tarsem Singh says that action will be taken against the accused under the NDPS Act at Civil Lines police station.
