IPLC Principal said, need to be aware of local laws
Ongole: Every citizen of the country should have knowledge and awareness of relevant local laws, rules and regulations, said Dr K Nataraj Kumar, Principal, Indira Priyadarshini Law College (IPLC), Ongole, at a legal literacy/awareness camp. At Chadalwada village (NG Padu mandal) on Sunday.
In this camp the students along with lecturers and legal experts from IPLC enlightened the villagers on various laws and acts and brought awareness about many social evils including dowry system and child marriage etc. Dr Nataraja explained the recent population census and caste based population census concepts.
“So far, the National Population Census has been conducted 16 times and recently the Government of India has come out with the Deaths and Births Registration Amendment Act-2023 for accurate data regarding the population of the country,” he said.
Students and legal experts also stressed on the laws related to Right to Free Education, Motor Vehicles (MV) Act, Right to Information (RTI) Act, POCSO Act, Domestic Violence Act, Family Law, Family Maintenance Norms, Rights of the Arrested Person etc. , Insurance Laws, Surrogacy Act, Transplantation of Human Organs Act, Environment Protection Act, and other legal aspects. Many other eminent dignitaries attended the event.
