Jagannath Darshan: Huge crowd seen for Jagannath darshan, snake like queues seen
Puri: A huge crowd has been seen in the holy city of Puri for Jagannath darshan, reliable reports in this regard said on Monday. Reports say that a large crowd of people has gathered around the Jagannath temple for darshan. Lakhs of devotees have gathered in Puri on the occasion of Christmas.
Devotees have formed long queues from the temple office to have darshan of the Lord. The target was to make the AC tunnel fully operational by December 25, but it was not completed, hence the devotees are waiting for darshan in the old barricading system.
The door of the temple is opened at 12:40 pm i.e. after midnight. Mangal Aarti was performed at 5.30 in the morning and general darshan began.
On the other hand, due to dense fog in Puri, devotees were deprived of Neel Chakra darshan for a long time. The sun was not visible even till 9:00 in the morning. A large number of policemen have been appointed to maintain peace in front of the temple and inside the premises.
