Jailed AAP leader Satyendar Jain’s health deteriorates, admitted to hospital
New Delhi (IANS) | Due to deteriorating health of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain, he was taken to Safdarjung Hospital from Tihar Jail on Monday. Sources gave this information. No other additional information was immediately made available.
Recently, Jain had consulted a psychologist inside the jail clinic, who suggested that as the AAP leader is feeling depressed and lonely, he should be around people and interact.
The ED had arrested Jain on May 30, 2022, under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
The ED filed a case against Jain, his wife Poonam, and Ajit Prasad Jain, Sunil Kumar Jain, Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain by the CBI in 2017 under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. On the basis of the registered FIR, the investigation of money laundering was started.
The CBI has alleged that Satyendar Jain amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income during February 14, 2015 to May 31, 2017, while holding the office of a minister in the Delhi government.
The CBI had filed the charge sheet on December 3, 2018.
Earlier, the ED had provisionally attached immovable properties worth Rs 4.81 crore belonging to companies owned and controlled by Satyendar Jain on March 31, 2022.
