Jalandhar: Case registered against 8 people for attacking ASI

Phagwara: Police have registered a case against eight miscreants including three members of a family for attacking a police officer. The accused have been identified as Mandeep Singh of Mirapur village, his brother Amanvir Singh and his son Gurbir and Golu, Bhagatvir Singh and Harman of the same village and their two companions. ASI Amrik Singh said that he along with his staff was on duty near Shakarpur village on Shankar-Nakodar road and was checking vehicles. Mandeep was found driving a scooter in an inebriated state and when he tried to check the accused, he started misbehaving and abusing the police and called other accused, who reached the spot and attacked him and his companions, tore their uniforms and snatched their smartphones and threatened them.

Man beaten up, case registered

Hoshiarpur: Police have registered a case of murderous assault. Ravinder Singh of village Nadolo told police that he had taken land on lease from Avtar Singh of his village. He had gone to arrange water from the fields. When he asked Avtar for the keys of the motor, he refused to give it. When he was returning, the accused attacked him with sticks and seriously injured him. He told that he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police have registered a case and started further action.

4 arrested for attacking youth

Hoshiarpur: Bakshi Ram of village Chakwal has lodged a complaint with the police that he was going home with his son Sunil Kumar. On the way, he met Baljinder Singh, Sunny and Raman Kumar of his village and Darshan Masih of village Bahupur, who took his son with them and went towards village Samarwan. When his son did not return home for a long time, he went to search for him. On the way, his son was found in an injured condition. He took his son to Mukerian Hospital. Seeing the critical condition of his son, the doctors referred him to Jalandhar. Police have registered a case and arrested the four accused.

8 arrested with narcotics
Nakodar: Police arrested eight people from different places and recovered huge amount of narcotics and drug money. Police raided a shop in Gaushala Market and arrested four accused from the second floor and recovered 530 grams of narcotic powder from them. The accused have been identified as Luv Kumar of Khanpuri Gate, Manjinder Kumar of Balmiki Mohalla, Sunil Kumar of Araiyan Mohalla and Akashdeep of Khanpuri Gate. Police also arrested two people and recovered 12 kg of poppy husk from them. The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh of Kandhala Jattan and Gurpreet Singh of Kaloye. Talwara police arrested Ashok Kumar of Mukerian and recovered 22 grams of narcotic powder and drug money worth Rs 10500 from him. While Tanda police arrested Vijay Nagar Tanda and recovered 30000 ml of liquor from him.
