Jalandhar: Gang of robbers busted, three arrested with weapons
Jalandhar: Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has busted a robbery gang and arrested three of its members and recovered country-made weapons from their possession. According to Commissioner Swapan Sharma, the accused barged into a shop and attacked a shop employee and threatened him with lethal weapons, including a khanda (traditional sword) and a country-made pistol. Following the incident, an FIR was registered on October 4 under the BNS and Arms Act.
The arrested persons have been identified as Karan Yadav, a native of Bihar, now living in Mubarakpur Shekhan, Gurpratap Singh of Punjabi Bagh in Jalandhar and Ritesh Kumar, also from Bihar, currently living in Gadaipur here. Police have recovered a country-made pistol, a magazine, two khandas and a scooter with registration number PB08-EQ-8067 from the accused. Karan Yadav is reportedly involved in four previous cases, while Gurpratap Singh has one case registered against him. No criminal history has been found of Ritesh Kumar. Commissioner Sharma said the investigation is ongoing.
