Jalandhar MC chief inspects roads, orders testing of water in slum areas
Punjab: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gautam Jain today inspected various roads of the city including Cool Road, Garha Road, near STP Plant and the road leading to Dina village.
According to the information, under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme, a sewerage pipe was laid from Folariwal to Dina village, which was never cleaned.
The MC Commissioner found the work on other roads satisfactory, while ordered cleaning of sewerage on the road leading to Dina village. He was accompanied by other officials and inspected the ongoing work.
MC Commissioners are holding meetings to resolve the issues, inspecting various areas. Recently, he held a meeting with the operations and maintenance (O&M) wing of the MC and directed officials to identify the areas and submit a detailed report where there is water shortage during this time every year. Is. He also asked to ensure renovation and maintenance of tube wells in areas where people have been complaining for a long time.
The Municipal Corporation will also start sampling water from slums and areas where contaminated water causes problems in the months of May to July.
Also, officials have been given a time limit of 15 days to ensure cleanliness of roads and streets in every ward.
