Jalandhar: Snatchers attack again, attack auto driver’s hand

Jalandhar: Nearly eight days after 24-year-old cable company employee Sunny’s hand was snatched, a similar incident has happened with an autorickshaw driver near Ram Nagar railway crossing. Dinesh Kumar was surrounded by some bike-borne men last night and they tried to snatch his phone and cash. When the victim resisted, the accused attacked the auto driver and his hand was badly injured and he suffered a deep wound. ACP (North) Sheetal Singh said the police received information about the incident late last night. “We will record his statement. CCTV camera footage is being checked to trace the accused,” he said. In the evening, the police traced the victim and recorded his statement. Till then, he had not lodged any complaint with the police. SHO Gurmukh Singh said his team had gone to Kumar’s house to find out what happened. “We will take action as per his complaint,” he said.
