Jalmeria demanded to give district status to Bilwar
Advocate Hari Chand Jalmeria, convenor of Billawar District Movement, conducted a four-day tour of various areas of Billawar, Ramkote and Lohai Malhar tehsils. He visited Machhedi, Kindli, Badnota, Lohai, Baggan, Billawar, Sukrala, Dewal, Dungara, Mandli, Gudha, Sialna. , visited Aglidhar, Nagrota, Kasher, Panjtirthi and interacted with the people. While talking to journalists, Jalmeria expressed anger over not giving district status to Bilwar and demanded to give district status to Bilwar soon.
He condemned the decision of the Government to shift Bilwar Jail from Kathua to Dambra, where the beautiful grasslands of two-three villages spread over hundreds of kanals along with hundreds of trees have been destroyed and the protest of the local people in this regard. Has been ignored.
He said that the government should abandon the plan to build a prison in Dambra and instead build an agricultural university there to promote agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry as well as to save the healthy environment.
Jalmeria reiterated the demand for construction of Sundarikot tunnel to connect Bilwar with the National Highway at Kathua.
They also demanded a tunnel at Chochru Gala to connect Machhedi-Lohai-Malhar to Basantgarh Sudhamhadev and another tunnel at Dehri Gala to connect Bilwar Katli with Dhaggar Bani.
Jalmeria opposed Ujah’s proposal to build a hydroelectric dam in Panjtirthi and said that there is shortage of water there and the people of Billawar will be unnecessarily troubled and uprooted.
