Jammu News: One person arrested with ganja in Kanachak
Jammu: Police on Friday arrested a man with 500 grams of ganja in Kanachak localities of Jammu district. “In a significant crackdown on illicit drugs, police have arrested Balwant Singh alias Bantu, 38, a resident of Kalyanpur, Marh tehsil of Jammu district. The arrest has been made in a case FIR No. 80/2024 registered under Section 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act,” a police spokesperson said.
Balwant Singh, son of Bodh Singh, was arrested on May 31, 2024 during routine patrolling. The accused was found with the contraband substance at Kalyanpur and immediate action was taken by the vigilant police officers of Kanachak police station. “The contraband substance has been seized and further investigation is underway. “The arrest has been made under “Operation Sanjivani” of Jammu Police to tackle the problem of drug trafficking in the region and to ensure safety and well-being of the residents here,” the spokesperson said.
