PM Modi to visit Trichy today: Will inaugurate projects worth Rs 5,650 crore

Tamil Nadu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Trichy on Wednesday to attend a government function and a public meeting of the National Democratic Alliance.
For this, the Prime Minister will arrive in Trichy on Wednesday at 5 pm on a private flight from Kochi, Kerala, and will then fly by helicopter from the airport to Panchapur, where the ceremony will take place.
There, the Prime Minister will first participate in a government function organized by the Indian Oil Corporation, the National Highway Authority of India, and the Railways, and will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone, and flag off development projects worth approximately ₹5,650 crore.
In this program, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s city gas distribution network in the Nilgiris and Erode districts, with an investment of ₹3,680 crore, and dedicate to the nation an Indian Oil Corporation lubricant oil manufacturing plant in Chennai-Manali, with an investment of ₹1,490 crore. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 89 rural roads, totaling 370 km, will be opened in Tamil Nadu. He will lay the foundation stone for a green bypass near Gangaikonda Cholapuram on National Highway 81. Following this, the Prime Minister will flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains, two express trains, and a passenger train service. After the public meeting, he will depart for Delhi from Trichy International Airport by helicopter at 7:45 p.m. A helicopter landing safety drill was also conducted on Tuesday.
Drone Flying Ban: As a security measure, drone flying was banned in Trichy district on Wednesday. Trichy District Magistrate V. Saravanan warned that strict action will be taken against those violating the ban.
2,600 Police Personnel Deployed for Security: A five-layer security system has been deployed at Trichy International Airport in view of the Prime Minister’s visit. Similarly, 2,600 police personnel have been deployed for security in Trichy International Airport, the Panchapur area where the ceremony will be held, and surrounding areas.
