JDU gets another shock, State Vice President Lalan Paswan leaves the party

Patna (IANS). Bihar’s ruling Janata Dal (United) again suffered a blow on Thursday when party vice-president and former MLA Lalan Paswan resigned from all party posts including primary membership.

Just a few days ago, former Legislative Councilor Ranveer Nandan had resigned from the party. JDU state vice president and former MLA Lalan Paswan has sent his resignation to JDU national president Lalan Singh on Thursday.

Lalan Paswan has cited alliance with RJD as the reason for his resignation. In his resignation letter sent to the National President, he has written that after the compromise with the Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad Yadav, who established terrorism and hooliganism in Bihar, the state government is taking steps towards preventing and increasing incidents of murder, rape and harassment of Dalits. I resign from the primary membership of Janata Dal (U) in protest against no strict action being taken by the Government.

Paswan has been an MLA from Chenari area of Rohtas. He has a special identity as a Dalit leader in Rohtas district. Till now Paswan has not made any revelation regarding the future. But, it is believed that he may join NDA.
