Jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh looted from businessman in Odisha’s Keonjhar district

Keonjhar: Jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh was allegedly looted from a businessman in Keonjhar district of Odisha yesterday night. The loot took place near Urti Chhaka in Champua Block of the district.

The loot victim has been identified as Hiranyamayee Sahu, the owner of a jewellery shop.

As per reports, six masked miscreants stopped the businessman near Urti chhaka yesterday at about 8 pm. He closed his jewellery shop and was returning home along with his son when they were looted.

According to the victim, the six miscreants frightened the father-son with sword and gun. They pushed the vehicle on which the victims were travelling and snatched away the bags that contained jewelleries worth Rs 25 to 30 lakh.

Following the incident the elder son of the victim rushed to the spot and they followed the looters but in vain.

Later, the victims lodged Police complaint with Champua Police. Following the complaint Police visited the spot and initiated investigation.
