Jharkhand: Big decision in minor gangrape case, got justice after 4 years
In a case of gangrape in Dhanbad Court, the court convicted three minors and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. The court of District and Sessions Judge I Sujit Kumar Singh had convicted all the three accused on the previous date itself. The hearing was yet to be held on the point of punishment, on which the court, while giving its verdict, sentenced the culprits to life imprisonment. On March 13, 2019, the minor girl had gone to a relative’s house for a wedding ceremony. 11:00 pm She was leaving the wedding ceremony and going to her grandmother’s house.

During this, in the middle of the way, the four accused together took the minor to a dilapidated house, where the incident of gangrape was carried out with him. After going wrong, the minor girl fainted. After regaining consciousness in the morning, she somehow reached home and informed the family about the incident. An FIR was registered in the case on March 18, 2019 at Chirkunda police station.

Senior Public Prosecutor Anil Kumar Singh said that in the case, 4 minors were accused of gangrape with a minor girl of the locality. Out of which 3 accused have been convicted by the court. Another accused has been released by the court. He told that at the time when the incident of gangrape was carried out by the minors, all the accused were around 17 years old. By the time the court’s decision comes, his age has been 20 to 21 years. Convicting Mahesh Bhuiyan, Tinku Bhuiyan and Sanjay Bhaiya in this case, the court has sentenced them to a fine of Rs 10,000 and life imprisonment.
