Jharkhand: Maoists shot dead a man on charges of police informer

Chaibasa: Maoists shot dead a person on charges of police informer in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
The victim, identified as Nelson Bhengra, was shot dead near Ichapidi village late on Tuesday night.

Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said that the victim had links with the banned CPI (Maoists) and they used to visit his house earlier also.

He said that a police team has been sent to the spot on Wednesday to investigate the incident.

The SP said that details of the incident are awaited.

Police said that Maoists dropped leaflets claiming responsibility for the incident.

However, the victim’s family members claimed that Bhengra had broken away from the militant outfit and was working as a night guard at a construction site.
